The 3rd United Nations Small Island Countries Development Conference hosted by the United Nations was held in Apia, capital of Samoa, South Pacific island country.About 4,500 delegates from 174 countries and regions around the world discussed the sustainable development of small island developing countries.In his opening address to the General Assembly, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon stressed that the issue of small islands would ultimately affect everyone.He called on the world to listen carefully to the voices of small island developing countries and help them achieve sustainable development.More than 100 heads of state, heads of government and representatives of other participating countries and international organizations from island countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, the Americas and the South Pacific region spoke at the four-day plenary meeting, explaining their respective positions.
The conference consisted of two main venues and six press halls. A total of 400 PLEXUS PL-M800PVL series paperless multimedia conference terminals and 2,000 infrared language listening systems were used. Sixteen interpretation rooms were set up with 32 PL-IR800T translation units, which corresponded to the interpretation of Arabic, Chinese, English, Spanish, French and Russian respectively.In addition, two sets of video tracking system were configured to set up automatic camera tracking function for all representative units.Furthermore, PLEXUS AVM series central control system and high definition hybrid matrix switching system were also used in the venue.
The PLEXUS products purchased by this project also set the largest order for the South Pacific Conference System Project.Tosyeason specially formed a technical team to go to Samoa to cooperate with the project team, including pre-design, construction guidance and technical support for the opening and closing meetings of the Summit.The Tosyeason Technical Group successfully completed its task and was highly appreciated by the project team and relevant United Nations officials, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, Special Envoy of President Xi Jinping and Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui.
